Las Vegas

If you fancy getting away from the strip one evening then head to Fremont street, please be aware that when leaving the area around midnight that its best to do so in a taxi.

The Fremont street experience (FSE) is an attraction in downtown Las Vegas that occupies 5 blocks showcasing LED lights and a sound system with eye catching displays.

What is on offer:

Viva Vision

The biggest part of the Fremont Street experience is the Viva Vision canopy and light show, the LED display canopy is 1,500 feet long and towers 90 feet in the air.

The average show lasts 6 minutes long and can include “Lucky Vegas”, “Downtown Divas” & in 2008 “A Tribute to Queen” this is the first Viva Vision show that is dedicated to one artist.

The Fremont show experience is more than just a light show, each year the experience hosts special events and live bands perform outside daily.

Entertainment is free and there is something for everyone including little shops and light shows.

Lifes a Beach!
If you think that the beach doesn’t exist in Las Vegas then you are mistaken. Mandalay Bay Hotel has its very own 11 acre beach equipped with a wave pool (with waves that can reach 6ft high!), lazy river, 3 swimming pools and 2,700 tonnes of sand.

The pool hours are 7.00am to 8.00pm and gets very busy in the summer months so make sure you get there early and reserve a seat.
There are plenty of things to do at the Beach, if you don’t fancy a dip there is a 3-story, glass fronted Beachside Casino (what do you expect – you are in Las Vegas).

On the first level you can enjoy some snacks in the open air Beach Bar and Grill, the second floor is the casino – blackjack, roulette and craps with an amazing view of the sparkling pool.

On the third floor are five villas soleil with fantastic views of Mandalay Bay Beach that accommodate up to 16 guests with cabana service and access to a private, third level pool.

In addition to the above Mandalay Beach also offers the Moorea Beach Club, guests can enjoy a European style pool experience. Guests do need to be over 21 to enjoy this feature, there are 2 dipping pools, cushioned chaise lounges and a private pavilion. There is a charge for the above.

During the summer there are a number of concerts played on a one off stage above Mandalay Bay Beach, the public are encouraged to chill on the beach or have a paddle whilst listening to the popular music!

Las Vegas offers more than 300 days sun a year and is hot and dry most of the time, rain is extremely rare, with no more than 4 inches a year.

Springtime starts in March until June, temperature ranges from 9°C until 23°C. Probably the best time to visit Las Vegas as its not too hot and there aren’t too many tourists.

Summertime is the end of June until the middle/end of September and is hot!! The temperature ranges from 22°C to 27°C in August .

Autumn again is a nice time to visit Las Vegas as it’s a little cooler – the end of September to the middle of December. Temperatures are between 22-28°C. There are a lot of US holidays (Thanksgiving, sporting events) on during this period so the crowds might get a little busier than usual.

Wintertime can get very cold, as low as 4°C in December so make sure you take a jacket with you.
