Las Vegas offers more than 300 days sun a year and is hot and dry most of the time, rain is extremely rare, with no more than 4 inches a year.

Springtime starts in March until June, temperature ranges from 9°C until 23°C. Probably the best time to visit Las Vegas as its not too hot and there aren’t too many tourists.

Summertime is the end of June until the middle/end of September and is hot!! The temperature ranges from 22°C to 27°C in August .

Autumn again is a nice time to visit Las Vegas as it’s a little cooler – the end of September to the middle of December. Temperatures are between 22-28°C. There are a lot of US holidays (Thanksgiving, sporting events) on during this period so the crowds might get a little busier than usual.

Wintertime can get very cold, as low as 4°C in December so make sure you take a jacket with you.

Want to go to Las Vegas but cant find a babysitter – take the kids with you! There is plenty for children to do in Las Vegas, so bring them with you. This is one place I can guarantee they will not get bored.

Here are a few suggestions of what they will enjoy:

Tournament of Kings at Excalibur

A themed dinner show with a difference, you can eat with your hands and are encouraged to be as loud as you like!

The audience are transported to King Arthurs court to celebrate the return of his son. The Kings challenge their skills with jousting, swords and competition. Be alert for the evil wizard Mordred, the kings must unite if the evil wizard is to be defeated.

Adventuredome at Circus Circus

Adventuredome is a huge indoor theme park. 5 acres of rides and attractions under one roof, what child wouldn’t love that!!

The tried and tested ride is the Canyon Blaster (not for small ones though, minimum height of 4ft) A double-loop, double corkscrew rollercoaster reaching speeds of 55mph – not for the faint hearted!

There are junior and family rides for the smaller ones (Minimum 2.75ft). There is also rock climbing and bungee jumping, miniature golf, an arcade and FREE Clown shows! What more could you ask for, definitely worth a visit.

Lion Habitat at MGM Grand

Only 1.5 inch glass is separating you from the lions, fancy it?

If you love watching lions in their natural habitat then make a stop at the MGM Grand, there are 31 lions in total 20 females and 11 males although only a few lions are out at a time. When they aren’t at the MGM the lions live at a 8.5 acre ranch 12 miles from the MGM Grand. They have a special animal trainer and conservationist looking after them.

Presentations are given daily but does depend on the lions and their behaviour if you are lucky you may be able to watch them being hand fed.

If you are feeling hungry one evening and fancy a change why not opt for a Mexican meal? I have heard great reports about Taqueria Canonita at the Venetian Hotel. A true Mexican eatery with an American twist, Taqueria Canonita provides a variety of Tacos, tostadas and quesadillas made with grilled meats, vegetables and seafood. For a recommendation on what to have I suggest Sopa de Tortilla for starter and main course I would go for the Shrimp enchiladas.

If you fancy a cheaper meal you can order the Taco Platter with some chips and salsa for starters. For dessert it’s simple, tequila and more tequila!

Who comes to Las Vegas to relax? Well after all that walking and gambling I suggest you visit a spa to recuperate for a while, why not have a massage or a nice relaxing facial? Las Vegas is one of the great spa destinations in the United States, you would be a fool to miss out!

You get the best discounts when you visit the spa at your hotel but if you don’t have one there are a few you can visit.

Spa Bellagio at The Bellagio
The Spa Bellagio has a wide range of therapies which include Massage therapies (Relaxation massage, Aromatherapy massage)

World therapies (Indian Head massage, Watsu Massage – Highly recommended) Facial & Body Care (Facial massages, Exfoliation), Hydrotherapy (Mud Bath)

Waxing and Beauty Care There is also a salon that offers manicures and pedicures along with Hair treatments.

Unfortunately you do have to be staying at the Bellagio to use their spa facility.

Canyon Ranch spaclub at the Venetian
Occupying nearly a whole floor of the Venetian and covering 69,000 square feet the spaclub offers the following:

Complementary medicine
Fitness
Hair & Beauty
Body Treatments
Waxing
Body scrubs, Treatments and waxing
Massage therapies

The Spa at Wynn
Again this is for exclusive use of guests only, the spa contains 45 treatment rooms and separate men and women’s facilities.

The spa at the Wynn offers:

For you keen golfers out there why not visit the Wynn for a round of golf?

The 18-hole course designed by famous architect Tom Fazio and Steve Wynn features 7,042 yards of golf and a rating of 74, not forgetting the huge waterfall on the 18th hole. The course opened in 2005 is the only golf course on the strip.

If planning a round of golf be prepared to part with the estimated $500 green fee!

For selected dates in June through to October, Elton John will be returning with the Red Piano tour at Caesars Palace. Some reviews from the press and the public include “Absolutely awesome”, “Great concert” and “An evening with a Rock and Roll icon” so its fair to say that if you are in Las Vegas during this time then go see the man himself.

While in Las Vegas don’t forget to take in all the extras...

1. Take a trip around the Grand Canyon by helicopter
There are many Grand Canyon Tours you can take experiencing the Canyon from 4,000 feet in the air. Tours usually include views of the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead and are breathtaking.

2. Visit the Fountains at Bellagio
If you aren’t staying at the Bellagio (The fountains can be viewed from certain rooms) you must visit the fountains.

The shows are usually every 15-30 minutes from midday or mid afternoon and are described by many as "spectacular".The fountains “dance” to various music from Andrea Bocelli to Pink Panther, shows last around 4 minutes

3. See a show
What better place to see a show than Las Vegas! A couple that have been recommended are;

"O" by Cirque du Soleil – Inspired by the concept of infinity and the elegance of water, all style performers create a show where anything is possible. Acrobats, divers and swimmers take part in, on and above water to create a mind blowing experience.

Blue Man Group – Combining music, comedy and theatrics to create a one off form of entertainment. Apparently it’s the atmosphere that is produced at their live stage show that makes this an unforgettable experience.

4. Take a trip up the Stratosphere
1,149 feet into the Las Vegas skyline the Stratosphere tower is the tallest tower in the U.S, the view of the Vegas street is most exciting. If you feel like being a little more daring jump on one of the rides that shoots you over thousand feet in the air, or take the mechanical arm that extends 64 feet over the edge of the tower and spins you around. Be sure to take this ride before your lunch!

5. Shopping!
What else is there to do on holiday apart from Shop! Take a tour around The Forum at Caesars. With more than 160 boutiques this is the most successful shopping centre in the country.

Stores include; Dior, Fendi, Gucci & Louis Vuitton.
